Cozy and cabin-themed, this top-floor unit sleeps six to eight — though we'll be honest, that's really six and two half-people. Eight grown adults can squeeze in, but someone's definitely drawing the short straw, and you'll all be very cozy (we do mean very). There's a king bed in the master, a full-over-queen bunk bed in the second bedroom (kids love the top), and a leather couch bed in the living room for whoever drew that short straw. We'll be straight with you: a couch bed is still a couch bed — but we splurged on the best futon mattress money can buy, so it's almost a comfortable one. No air mattresses here. Round it out with a full kitchen, an in-unit washer and dryer (a real luxury after a long ski day), and the same top-floor mountain views the building is known for.
A note on pets: our co-owner Nolan stays in this unit now and then with his dog, so a friendly pup is part-time family here — good to know if anyone in your group has allergies. Guests can't bring their own pets to either condo. (Traveling with a furry friend? Our Cary townhome welcomes them with a pet fee.)
Sugartop Resort guests enjoy full access to the on-site amenities — included with every stay.
Sugartop sits just above Sugar Mountain Ski Resort — minutes from the lifts in winter and a short drive to Banner Elk, Boone, Beech Mountain, and Grandfather Mountain the rest of the year.
Hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, breweries in Boone, the Tweetsie Railroad, and the gem mines around Spruce Pine are all within easy reach. In ski season, you're a quick shuttle ride from the slopes.
